joe_sizlackheya everyone03:29
joe_sizlackhas anyone been able to get komplete 10 working in wine?03:29
holsteinim glad i dont need wine anymore..03:30
holsteini used to run a slingbox with a windows app that was required03:30
joe_sizlackI'd love to not use it03:38
joe_sizlackI've gotta get these VI's running somehow though03:38
holsteinwell, one way is for them to be written for linux..03:39
joe_sizlackagreed03:39
falktxI'd check the winehq app database first03:57
falktxthey usually include tips for running specific apps03:58
falktx.g app.winehq.org komplete 1003:58

LAbotTitle: WineHQ - Browse Applications (at appdb.winehq.org)03:58
falktxdoesn't seem like many people care about komplete03:59
falktxjoe_sizlack: only found this https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=1562503:59
LAbotTitle: WineHQ - Native Instruments Komplete (at appdb.winehq.org)03:59
falktxversion 7 seems to work03:59
joe_sizlackyea03:59
falktxjoe_sizlack: some NI stuff has stopped working recently because they moved to a new compiler+dlls (vc2013) that wine doesn't support yet03:59
joe_sizlackI checked around there03:59
falktxit's too new, needs time04:00
falktxso I'd try not-the-latest version first04:00
joe_sizlackwell I bought it04:00
falktxI know the latest kontakt doesn't work because of this04:00
joe_sizlackI've just been unable to get it working yet04:00
joe_sizlackbecause of dll issues I think04:00
falktxsee if you can get and older version04:01
falktxafaik issues with msvcp120.dll and mscvr120.dll are unresolved and will continue for quite a while04:01
joe_sizlackbah04:02
joe_sizlackthat's bad news04:02
joe_sizlackit's ships with msvcp120.dll  msvcr120.dll04:02
joe_sizlackwas hoping someone had more luck than I04:02
falktxme and another guy tried several things, it's just not supported by wine right now04:04
falktxso instead of using kontakt 5.4.1 we use 5.3.1 which works04:04
falktxshould be a similar thing with komplete04:04
joe_sizlackthey sent me a portable hard drive with it on there04:05
joe_sizlackI'm not sure I'll be able to get an older kontakt out of 'em04:05
joe_sizlackalso, their service center crashes with, what I'm assuming is, the same dll issues04:05
falktxyes04:05
joe_sizlackso registering and what not is going to be troublesome04:06
joe_sizlackI'm sure there's some way I can do it manually though04:06

joe_sizlackwine has a bounty thing somewhere I think05:05
spectromasgo for it then05:06
joe_sizlackworth a go, I suppose05:07
joe_sizlackI know crossover has a pledge thing05:07
joe_sizlackI can't seem to find winehq's yet05:07
spectromaspledge?05:08
spectromasI don't think they are promising you anything05:08
joe_sizlacknah, that just their bounty program05:08
joe_sizlacki think05:08
joe_sizlackI've never tried it05:08
joe_sizlackas I understand it though, you pledge some money if someone can get your app working05:09
spectromasdon't know, I wouldn't count on it too much05:09
joe_sizlackright05:09
spectromasgood luck though, I'm off :)05:09

ItsMeLennywhy is LMMS no longer in kxstudio repos13:45
alex-EUthelonius: tell falktx this is a crash i got, with one plugin loaded (patchbay) when standalone K crashed. http://pastebin.com/0utt8mnv13:46
theloniusalex-EU: I'll pass that on when falktx is around.13:46
ItsMeLennyis thelonius a bot13:47
alex-EUItsMeLenny: yes.13:48
distrozapperItsMeLenny, it is. And AFAICS lmms is still in the repos of ubuntu and debian.13:49
ItsMeLennyah, none of them have updated to 1.1, and 1.0.3 keeps locking up my whole computer13:49

amohey guys, got a little problem after installation of KXStudio. I installed it alongside win7 but on another partition which has been split/resized for kxstudio. The installation was alright but I can't boot into kxstudio, it looks like there is no boot loader knowing of kxstudio on sda7.14:50
amoDoes anyone have an idea how I could fix this?14:50

JackWinteri'll be right over :)17:18
FergusLI still have issues with jackd and jackd2 some application want one or the other...17:21
JackWinterthat seems impossible as they should be binary compatible?  maybe they're just badly packaged17:51
*** amo has quit IRC18:08
FergusLJackWinter: that's what I thiunk18:48
FergusLthe package specifically asks for one18:48
FergusLI'm trying out FaustLive for the Faust language18:49
JackWinterFergusL: where did you get the package from?19:02
JackWinternote that i'm not a debian/kxstudio user but that sounds wrong19:02
FergusLfrom there website, didn't even bother trying with apt, I don't think it packaged19:02
FergusLtheir*19:03
JackWinterhmm faust, i could imagine that kxstudio would have that packaged.  but it's from the jack2 people, maybe you need jack2 as a dependency to build it and can run without it19:04
FergusLyes19:04
FergusLwhat do you mean it's from the jack2 people19:05
FergusL?19:05
FergusLactually ubuntu has faust and faustworks, and not faustlive19:05
JackWintergrame, isn't that where jack2 comes from too?19:05
FergusLI don't know ! that's why I ask !19:06
JackWinterfaustlive-git on archlinux seems (strangely enough) to need jack2 too19:08
FergusLit's packaged on archlinux ?19:08
JackWinterthere is a buildscript on aur: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/faustlive-git/19:09
LAbotTitle: AUR (en) - faustlive-git (at aur.archlinux.org)19:09
JackWinterwe mostly don't have packages for audio software :S  most users build it themselves from buildscripts on the aur and the simple builddsystem.19:10
JackWinterprobably the reason that our third party archaudio-production repo is mostly empty19:11
JackWinteri guess once you've built it, you could probably run it with jack1, otherwise that could be considered a bug19:12
mseeberjack 1 and 2 ar mostly compatible, itis supposed to work but there are some differences: https://github.com/jackaudio/jackaudio.github.com/wiki/Q_difference_jack1_jack219:51
