Hi,

I'd like to throw in clive for downloading videos off various sites,
e.g. youtube, vimeo etc.

Regarding mplayer2 having its glitches, I switched from mplayer to
mplayer2 because of mplayer glitches. :)

esp. playing this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHkucr1jJpQ

Use clive like this:
clive -f best 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHkucr1jJpQ'

then

mplayer Neil\ Peart\ Drum\ Solo\ Rush\ 30th\ Anniversary.webm

Warning: the downloaded file is 355M
