Hi

First make sure your SoX version supports jack.
Find out with:

sox -h | grep -i drivers

Here, it does NOT - what a nuisance.
Maybe it doesn't support jack at all !??

You could try ecasound instead.
I'm uninformed myself, how it compares to SoX.
Or GStreamer ?
Depends on what exactly you want and need.
