Get a DT100. Mine is now 35 years old, has seen some forms of
abuse you can't imagine, and it's still doing its job as if
nothing ever happened.
Or if you can afford it, get a DT48. Takes some getting used
to, but probably the best thing there is for recording.
A world of exhaustive, reliable metadata would be an utopia.
It's also a pipe-dream, founded on self-delusion, nerd hubris
