Hi!

First off, this is from memory of RoseGarden 9.x, I dont have it here now.
Please read with salt. :-)

1: If your using the internal synth in rosegarden, then you need to patch
the audio outputs of rosegarden to
the system playbacks, and it should all work.

2: If your using an external synth, (QSynth), you need to patch the MIDI
from RoseGarden to QSynth, and the
Audio from QSynth to the system playbacks.

I think your attempting #2, which would mean that if you patch the MIDI to
QSynth you migth be in buisness..?
Let me know.. Cheers, -Harry

Hi,
I'm running Rosegarden 10.02 on Ubuntu Lucid and am having problems wit=
h audio output. I am not using external midi hardware so am reliant on soft=
ware synths.

The steps I've taken are:
Run qjackctl, run Qsynth (which has been loaded with Unison soundfonts).
In Rosegarden I've selected General Midi Device from the Playback param=
eters and 1. Acoustic Grand Piano from the Instrument parameters.

When I load a midi file (created by Lilypond) it plays with no audio althou=
gh the level meters on the track do indicate it's getting some kind of =
signal.

What am I missing? And, does Qsynth need to be running at all?

Many thanks,
Peter
