The USB card does not have mixer elements, so nothing can be

done about it. I've heard that M-audio cards took some liberty

with the USB spec and so they weren't very well supported.
In sequence, I tried a M-Audio quattro. This still has the

same Jack problems, but when using alsa or oss directly it

works in full-duplex. However, the quality is not great and it

clips easily. In other words, not very usable.
