I have the Multiface II with HDSP PCI.

03:07.0 Multimedia audio controller: Xilinx Corporation RME Hammerfall DSP (rev 32)

Never had any problems with loading firmware (hdsploader). It's 100%
firmware compatible with the original Multiface. It's not possible to
load firmware when the device already has been firmwared; you then
have to unplug it's power (either over PCI 1.09 or adapter) to make it
forget it's firmware. There should be a --force option.
