Well, I don't know exactly what you're calling BS but for clarity
their brand of support for the other devices/cards is to provide
technical information and not actually drivers. Clearly they have
something here that they want to protect or they wouldn't have a
reason to do otherwise. However, it's no different than my Pro Tools
1394 hardware. Digi has never released info on how to talk to the box
so I'll never be able to use it under Linux. Only difference is that
they've never released info on anything so this is not a change. That
change is what's hurting you.
And I am sorry. I really am. I don't like to see anyone go through
what I went through. My input, should you care to take it, would be to
put the card on EBay today and move forward ASAP. I think with this
sort of a problem in front of you it won't get better quickly and I
don't want you cursing your PC and not being able to do audio work
like I did for 6-8 months. I was miserable. Been there, done that,
hoping you won't be as stubborn as I was.
