Hello all,
Ecasound 2.4.6 has been released! Releases notes follow:
1. Summary of changes
---------------------Ability to specify a custom configuration resource file
has been added. Several long-standing bugs have been fixed.=20
The licensing of rubyecasound has been changed.2. What is Ecasound?
--------------------Ecasound is a software package designed for multitrack audio
processing. It can be used for simple tasks like audio playback,=20
recording and format conversions, as well as for multitrack effect=20
processing, mixing, recording and signal recycling. Ecasound supports=20
a wide range of audio inputs, outputs and effect algorithms.=20
Effects and audio objects can be combined in various ways, and their
parameters can be controlled by operator objects like oscillators=20
and MIDI-CCs. A versatile console mode user-interface is included=20
in the package.Primary platform for running Ecasound is GNU/Linux. Ecasound can=20
also be run on many UNIX-derived systems such as FreeBSD, Mac OS X=20
and Solaris. Limited support for Windows is available through=20
Cygwin. Ecasound is licensed under the GPL. The Ecasound Control=20
Interface (ECI) is licensed under the LGPL.3. Changes since last release
-----------------------------* Ability to specify a custom resource file has been added.
This allows to use different settings for different sessions,
without having to modify system wide, nor user's default,
settings. Additionally, by specifying a null resource file,
accesses to global and user resource files can be disabled.
This can be done with the '-R' ecasound option and 'resource-file'
interactive mode command (see ecasound (1) and ecasoundrc (5) man
pages).* License of rubyecasound, Ruby implementaion of the Ecasound
Control Interface (ECI), has been changed from GPL to LGPL. This
aligns rubyecasound with other ECI implementations.* Fixes to many long-standing bugs. See the full change list
for details.Full list of changes is available at:
