tavixvidrobilla: The issues I mentioned are primarily getting applications to play nice with ingen. seems like the chance of failure increases exponentially relative to the number of programs the have to play nice.01:38
drobillaPlay nice how?  Via what?05:55
drobillaAre you talking about running it as a plugin?05:57
tavixvirunning it as a plugin, running certain plugins inside it, glitches like ingen not showing plugins despite having installed them. I dunno. I may or may not be inept.06:15
tavixviCompiled it on debian testing earlier today and it didn't play nice with calf plugins. Not sure if it was just a gui issue or what.06:17
tavixviBut I used binaries probably compiled with an older gcc against older versions of the libraries it needs.06:18
tavixviHave you thought about having stable versions or binaries?06:20
drobillaThe ingen-as-a-plugin case is still currently something of an experimental / for-those-who-know-what-they're-doing thing06:32
drobillaand Ingen is in general a more demanding plugin than most06:33
drobillaplugins not showing up in general uis usually because of unsupported ports/features06:34
drobillaBut calf works fine for me06:34
drobillaThough about a stable version? yes.06:34
drobillaIs there a stable version? no.06:34
drobillaAre you running in development software out of bleeding edge git? yes. So, y'know... :)06:35
drobillaBut if you can describe actual isses concretely (ideally as tickets) I will fix them06:36
drobillaI can't debug "doesn't play nice", which spans the gamut from "computer on fire" to "the modules look a little funny"06:36
tavixvihaha, i get ya. I'll do something about that probably in the next 24 hrs06:37
drobillaThe main reasons there is no stable release yet is because the protocol and file format need to be fixed in stone, and a few important things are missing for the ingen-as-LV2 case, like presets and better ability to set up controls and such06:38
drobillaI have less than zero interest in dealing with backwards compatibility crap in Ingen06:38
tavixvifair enough06:39
drobilla(On the bright side when it does get to stable, I will really mean stable, in the "your archived graphs will open on a completely different machine in 5 years" sort of way)06:39
* drobilla is ridiculousy busy, but getting there...06:40
drobillaThe state stuff as a plugin is questionable, so best bet (and what I do) is to develop graphs as an app, save them, then load them as plugins06:42
tavixvihuh. That didn't occur to me. Thanks!06:45
drobillan/p06:58
drobilla(just make sure to save them to LV2_PATH so they show up, i.e. ~/.lv2/)06:59
drobillaAnyway, off to work with me.  ttyl06:59
