petez9Hi12:31
petez9I compiled from git, and saved a patch - this creates a dir called simpleosc.ingen with three ttl files in it12:32
petez9But when I try and open the patch, though I have "bundle" selected in the file picker, it won't load the .ingen dir, but changes into the dir12:33
petez9Is this normal?12:33
petez9If I open any or all of the ttl files, I get something on the canvas, but it's not what I saved.12:34
petez9drobilla: basically I just want to save tue current graph and load it again later - is it possible?13:55
drobillapetez9: It's an unfortunate consequence of the Gtk file picker14:03
drobillapetez9: But it works for me.  Choosing either the mainfest or main file14:04
drobilla"not what I saved", more specifically?14:04
petez9drobilla: actually the behaviour seems sporadic, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes I get just the control and notify in/outs14:05
petez9Though I see more commits have arrived in git :)14:06
petez9I'll revert to the version I tested and give you a more detailed description of what happens in the file dialog, if that's ok?14:06
drobillaThe file dialog just chooses files at the end of the day :)14:07
drobillaBut if you can narrow down the issue, that'd be great14:07
drobillaMight as well just use the latest though14:07
drobillaAre you running as a single process?14:08
petez9I just tried the latest but it hung on exit. I'm runing with ingen -eg14:08
drobillaI've seen that occasionally but never managed to fully squash it14:21
drobillaBut I would need a backtrace to know if it's the same issue14:21
petez9Oh, ok ..14:25
petez9So I built ingen at the sep5 revision "fix man pages"14:26
petez9Then I right-click, load patch from file14:26
petez9I select all 3 ttll files, click "open" and a little box called "main" appears with ins and outs14:27
petez9Then I double click that box, and ... my patch is there inside it!14:27
petez9I didn't realise it worked like that!14:27
drobillaThe context menu is for loading things *into* the current graph14:28
petez9Ok ! Is there any way of just replacing the current graph?14:28
drobilla3 guesses and the first two don't count ;)14:29
petez9ALl right then ..file import ? ;-D14:31
petez9Sorry to take your time on this.. I suppose the departure from normal file->save, file->open has tripped me up quite badly.14:32
drobillaYes14:33
petez9It's kind of more thrilling to "acquire" this basic functionality after several hours of experiments and source-diving, though, so there's that  :)14:33
drobillaNot sure how exactly it departs from normal file->save14:33
drobillaBut yes, import is a bit different14:33
drobillaI should probably add an "open" for that reason, which is really "delete all then import"14:34
petez9I think I was expecting it to open the directory directly, and just got confused after that. If you have to multiple select the ttl files for it to work, then that is not clear, and if you only need tto select one ttl, it would be helpful to know which one..14:35
drobillaGtk has a folder chooser, but it's weird for different reasons14:36
drobillaYou don't have to multiple select the files14:36
drobillaProbably doesn't even do anything, I need to disable the ability in the dialog14:36
drobillaWhich doesn't matter except plugins which is new and should be hidden if possible (which it isn't really)14:37
drobillaOSX can do this pretend-directories-are-atomic thing nicely, Gtk not so much14:38
petez9Yeah, I did look at some pages on stackoverflow dealing with gtk directory selection14:39
petez9Maybe just save it as a tgz ? :)14:39
petez9Anyway, thanks a lot for your help and patience.. much appreciated.14:40
drobillaor that, but if there's big samples or references to external files and whatnot in there, things get messy14:40
